The landscape, fairly

PatchMon (v2, 2026) is a genuinely capable, lightweight self-hosted patch manager across Linux, FreeBSD, and Windows, with a free unlimited community edition. Praxis targets a different center of gravity: security and compliance governance, with OpenBao SSH PKI, rollout rings, governed remediation, and signed air-gap transfer.

Praxis 1.0 boundaries, stated plainly: full patch servicing covers APT and DNF families only, interactive sessions run on a single backend worker, and certificate revocation uses short-lived certificates instead of CRL/OCSP. Where a competitor is stronger, the pages above say so.
